Our office uses the highest standards of sterilization and disinfection. We use the latest equipment and products to ensure patient safety.

1. We use gloves and masks whenever treating patients. Hands are washed with soap and water and are dried thoroughly before we glove.
2. In the operatory all surfaces exposed during the procedure are sprayed and wiped down using high level disinfectants.
3. All metal instruments used during the procedure are taken to the sterilization area and scrubbed, placed in an ultrasonic machine to shake of stubborn debris, rinsed and placed in a steam sterilizer.
4. Plastics, rubber dams, papers, gauze, foam trays, gloves or anything else disposable are discarded after the procedure. Hard plastic non-disposable instruments are disinfected in a high level solution for the recommended time.
5. All water and suction lines are disinfected regularly to remove the bacteria growth

Our practice has  a digital radiographic (X ray) system (DenOptics by Gendex). Digital radiography has many advantages over traditional dental x-rays

• It's faster

• We can view images instantly.

• There's up to 90 percent less radiation.

• We can enhance images in a variety of ways to improve viewing.

• Images can be stored electronically for instant retrieval in the future, if needed.

• We avoid the chemicals used in the traditional developing process.

With digital radiography, x-rays are taken the same way as conventional methods except that a small phospur plate is inserted into the mouth.  This plate is very sensitive to the x-rays and therefore requires less radiation for each image. The amount of X-ray radiation is reduced by up to 90 percent. Once the x-ray is taken the plate is place into a special computer scanner and once

scanned it appears on the computer monitor to be viewed.  On the computer we can see details and make adjustments that are a tremendous help in our diagnosis.  The images are also saved in your electronic chart for instant retrieval when necessary. 

The CAESY Educational System

Our Office is equipped with a state-of-the-art video educational system designed to explain every variety of Dental subjects, from children's care, preventative care, periodontal treatments to cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry. The system features access to these educational video clips at every office computer, as well as our ability to provide take home customized CD's and printouts for our patients. The service also provides links through this website to CAESY Education Online- a wealth of dental information for our patients.  It is our continuing commitment to educate you about  treatment and prevention to enable you to make informed decisions about your dental care.
